What does Skool really cost at your size?

Skool lists two plans, but the monthly fee is only part of the bill. Hobby is $9 a month plus a 10% transaction fee and $0.30 per payment. Pro is $99 a month plus 2.9% and $0.30 per payment, with an extra 1% platform fee on any single sale above $899. Which one is cheaper depends entirely on how many members you have and what they pay.

Assumes one payment per member per month and domestic cards. Skool figures from public list pricing verified June 2, 2026; the Pro 1% platform fee is charged per sale, on the full amount of any single payment above $899 (2.9% becomes 3.9%), so monthly volume alone never triggers it. Pricing changes often, so re-check before deciding.

This calculator does the arithmetic for you. Enter your member count, your monthly price and the plan you are on or considering. You get the gross, every fee line, the total you pay Skool and the effective fee as a percent of revenue. Then it runs the same numbers on HiveLearn Growth and Pro, with the rev-share cap applied and Stripe shown as its own line so nothing is hidden inside a bundle.

Every figure is a math example from public list pricing, not a customer outcome. Use it to see where the crossover sits before you commit to a plan.

Questions people ask

How much does Skool charge per transaction?

On Hobby, 10% plus $0.30 per transaction. On Pro, 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction, rising to 3.9% plus $0.30 on any individual sale above $899 (a 1% platform fee on that sale). Figures from Skool public pricing as of the date shown on this page.

When does Skool Pro become cheaper than Hobby?

At about $1,268 in monthly sales, the point where the 10% Hobby fee overtakes the $90 difference in plan price plus Pro's 2.9% processing. The per-payment $0.30 is the same on both plans, so member count does not change the crossover; only a price above $899 per sale does, because Pro then charges 3.9%. Run your own numbers above.

Does HiveLearn charge a transaction fee?

HiveLearn charges a monthly plan fee plus a rev share that is capped per month on paid tiers (4% capped at $2,000 on Growth, 2% capped at $3,000 on Pro). Stripe processing of 2.9% plus $0.30 is always additional and is shown separately in this calculator.

Are these numbers guaranteed?

No. They are math examples built from public list prices at the verification date shown. Platform pricing changes often and your real costs depend on refunds, international cards and how many payments each member makes.
